Viscom in the North – Network meeting October 29–31, 2025 took place in Oslo

The Viscom in the North network, part of the CIRRUS – Nordic-Baltic Network of Art and Design Schools and supported by Nordplus, held a successful meeting at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts on October 29–31, 2025.

Viscom in the North is a thematic sub-network within CIRRUS that connects educators and researchers in visual communication across the Nordic-Baltic region from the schools of CIRRUS. The network provides a platform for sharing pedagogical practices, discussing current developments in design and media, and fostering collaboration among member institutions.

The theme of this year’s meeting was “Education in Transition.” Participants explored how technological and media changes are influencing visual communication education and exchanged experiences on how to adapt curricula and teaching methods to new realities.

The next Viscom in the North meetings will take place at:

  • Latvian Art Academy, Riga — October 2026

  • Royal Danish Academy, Copenhagen — October 2027

Warm thanks to our colleagues in Oslo for hosting and to all participants for their inspiring contributions!
