Theme: Local Coordinates
Local coordinates refer to a relative system of measurement — one that defines position within a specific context, rather than through a global or universal frame.
In a time of rapid globalization, where visual languages, tools, and outputs increasingly converge, we invite you to turn attention in the opposite direction.
We encourage you to reflect on:
* your local context — cultural, social, material, or political
* projects or practices grounded in a specific place or origin
* approaches that maintain a close connection to source, identity, and self
Rather than asking how we adapt to global systems, we ask:
what defines our position locally?
⸻
Presentations
Each institution will be invited to give a 10–15 minute presentation.
We welcome contributions that explore how local perspectives shape:
* visual communication practices
* design methodologies
* teaching approaches and educational structures
