CIRRUS is a Nordic-Baltic network of Art and Design higher education. There are 22 excellent art and design schools from the Nordics and the Baltics in the circle of this cooperation. The central activities of the partner institutions are art and design, including innovative activities, technical development and artistic practices.

CIRRUS Network Opens Call for New Members (2027)

The CIRRUS network invites applications from higher education institutions in the Nordic and Baltic regions to join its community of art and design education.

Established in 1990, CIRRUS is a collaborative network of institutions working across the fields of design, architecture, media, arts, and crafts. The network promotes innovation, mobility, and shared knowledge among its members.

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted via the form:

Applicants are required to upload the following documents:

  • Motivation letter
    Explaining the relevance of CIRRUS to the institution and outlining fields of education
  • Two recommendation letters
    From current CIRRUS member institutions

Selection Process

  • Applications are pre-reviewed by the CIRRUS Board
  • Final decisions are made by member vote at the annual CIRRUS meeting 2027.
  • Accepted institutions sign a collaboration agreement
  • Annual membership fee: €1200 (as of 2026)
